WoodPlus Stabilizer is 100% Acrylic colorless, low solids product designed to protect new wood surfaces during the first 3-6 months of exposure. WoodPlus Stabilizer allows the wood to properly dry out, while helping to minimize splitting and cracking. WoodPlus Stabilizer contains special water repellants to reduce the effects water penetration. Stabilizer is also effective on exterior concrete walkways, interlocking brick and paving stones to help reduce the effects of sun/rain and pollutants that can discolor these surfaces.

 

WoodPlus Stabilizer can be used on all exterior wood substrates, decking, siding, log homes, shakes and shingles. WoodPlus Stabilizer is particularly effective on Pressure Treated wood and cedar.  PT and cedar are naturally protected from wood rot and decay. Unfortunately, the effects of moisture and UV will cause splitting, cupping and warping in these expensive woods.  Additionally, new deck timber frequently has a shiny finish called, “mill glaze” caused at the mill. Essentially, the pores of the wood have been closed by planer blades and may take months to open sufficiently to allow for proper wood treatment.  As well, PT boards tend to be extremely wet causing the “ooze” while screwing down the boards. This can take weeks or more to dry-out, leaving gaps where the boards have shrunken (turning grey as they dry).  WoodPlus Stabilizer is also effective on exterior concrete walkways, interlocking brick and paving stones. Refer to the Application Guide for full application and maintenance procedures. Best applied with a low volume sprayer or garden pump sprayer. Saturate the surface (brushing or rolling out the excess). Can be re-applied after 1-2 hrs.
