General Warranty Information
In the wood coatings industry, warranty program design must contemplate a myriad of dynamics with regard to product (semi-solid versus solid versus translucent versus semi-transparent), substrate (wood, PT, fibre board, etc.), factory pre-stain, and horizontal versus vertical substrate (by no means a complete list).
The durability of wood stains is impacted by an array of factors which are well beyond the control of the manufacturer. The life span of a wood stain is very much compromised if the manufacturer’s application procedures are not followed diligently. Clearly, these dynamics impact the warranty offered all along the chain from manufacturer through to dealer. Each manufacturer approaches their warranty program in a different fashion.
Consequently, WoodPlus attempts to provide the ultimate purchaser of our quality products “full disclosure” on our warranty program. With the assumption that the product is applied with appropriate attention given to the product-specific Application Guide *, the following overview is provided:
1) Consumer (via dealer channel):
a) translucent (Ultra 10) and transparent products (Special UV):
i) are covered by a "Customer Satisfaction" guarantee which is clearly portrayed on the label; and,
ii) further detail is provided on the web-site (on the specific product page); and,
iii) product-specific Application Guides * are available for each WoodPlus product;
b) Opaque 20 product warranty:
i) has timelines portrayed which are dependent upon key criteria; and,
ii) further detail is provided on the web-site (on the specific product page); and,
iii) product-specific Application Guides * are available for each WoodPlus product;
c) all WoodPlus warranties are limited:
i) to the cost of the product only; and,
ii) exclude all instances where any product alteration, misuse, accident, improper storage, or neglect has affected the product’s performance; and,
iii) claims must be accompanied by proof of purchase (with date, location, and quantity purchased) and a photograph which depicts the concern;
d) the complete warranty documentation and Application Guide * for each distinct WoodPlus product is downloadable (PDF format) on the specific product page on this website;
2) Factory pre-stain warranties are very much a function of the specific application contemplated and, for this reason, the appropriate warranty must be tied directly to the product and the application. Consequently, the warranty to the ultimate consumer is through the provider/applicator/home builder who are supported by the WoodPlus warranty for factory pre-stain.
